Former Saint Paul Mayor, Democrat Chris Coleman announced Monday he’s dropping out of the race for governor. Coleman got only about 12 percent of the vote in a straw poll at last week’s precinct caucuses, well behind the front runner, First District Congressman Tim Walz who took 30 percent. Coleman has not endorsed another candidate but encourages Democrats to “stay true to our shared progressive values: good jobs for working families, universal health care and a retirement that we can all depend on.”
