Funeral today for three family members who died in grain bin accident in Millerville

December 31, 2019 By Bill Werner

Visitation continues this morning with a joint funeral service at 11am in Millerville for three family members who died after accidentally inhaling toxic fumes from a silo on December 21st. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 11-year-old Alex Boesl and his 47-year-old father Curt were working on top of a silo. Another son saw the two were down, called 9-1-1, and also called their uncle, 49-year-old Steven Boesl, who climbed into the silo to try to rescue them but was also overcome by the fumes. Steven Boesl died at the scene, Curt Boesl died the next day, and 11-year-old Alex died six days later at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. A GoFundMe account has raised over 100-thousand dollars for the two families.
