Garth Brooks has added a second show at U-S Bank Stadium in May. The country music superstar made the announcement this morning with Governor Dayton on a conference call to reporters. The second show was added after 50,000 people were still waiting to buy tickets when the first show sold out. Governor Dayton reached out and asked Brooks to add another show. Brooks says “it was very sweet that I then got a post from the Governor for a second show and it was very flattering and very humbling and of course it would be a joy of mine to get to play up there as many nights as we possibly could.” Dayton joked about Brooks selling out a show so fast, “which astonishes me because I haven’t had 50,000 people come to all my events all my entire career and I don’t even charge for them.” Brooks was supposed to be here in person for today’s announcement but said this morning the door on his plane would not stay shut. The shows will take place on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th. Here’s part of this morning’s teleconference…
