There are still some spots open for this week’s “Give Kids a Smile” clinics. Each year around two-thousand dental professionals volunteer at more than 125 clinics statewide to provide free dental care for children in need ages 18 and under. Minnesota Dental Association spokesman Dr. Michael Zakula says “unfortunately in our state, there is an access to care problem, and the children are the ones that pay the price for it, because reimbursement rates in Minnesota at the dentist are last in the nation.” To find out if there’s an open appointment near you, visit mndental.org. “Give Kids a Smile” runs tomorrow and Saturday.
