GOP candidate for gov, Johnson picks Donna Bergstrom as running mate

Republican candidate for Governor Jeff Johnson today announced Donna Bergstrom as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor. Bergstrom says she and Johnson “share a vision and that the proper role of government is to serve and not bully. Our freedoms as Americans and Minnesotans are non-negotiable. Also, in the bigger picture, I couldn’t agree more with Jeff’s theme of truly reforming government.” Bergstrom is a retired Marine Lt. Colonel and a member of the Red Lake Nation. She was born and raised in Carlton, Minnesota. She ran for a state Senate seat in Duluth–in a district Republicans have not won for decades in 2016–and lost.
