Republicans’ package for health insurance premium relief has cleared its first committee in the Minnesota House. Democrats say long-term reforms should be left for later so disagreements over that issue don’t delay short-term help. Woodbury Representative JoAnn Ward likened it to disaster relief saying,”I would prefer that we would address the roof before we have to deal with landscaping or anything else.” Plymouth Republican Sarah Anderson responded, “The great thing is… that we’re all on the same page, that we see this as a problem that needs to be addressed.” There are hearings at the State Capitol this week as Republicans push to get bills to the House and Senate floors.
