House Republicans are moving forward with a bill that would give Governor Mark Dayton the 10 million dollars he wants to continue fixing the state’s troubled vehicle registration system — but he’d have to take the money out of other state agencies’ budgets. Dayton fired back Tuesday, “That’s not a solution. That’s just batting the problem around. I’m not gonna cannibalize the rest of state government for this. If they don’t want to fix it or improve it, then so be it.”
Willmar Representative Dave Baker says if the governor is unwilling to agree with what Republicans propose, “he should tell Minnesotans what other actions he will take to fulfill his promise to ‘take full responsibility’ for this disaster.”
