A group of Republicans in the Minnesota House is asking the I-R-S to investigate Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for allegedly filing fradulent income tax returns. Dayton Representative Eric Lucero says it’s “not a partisan issue. This is about the rule of law…. We’re all equal under the law, but based on the evidence that’s available, Congresswoman Omar appears that she might be above the law.”
The state Campaign Finance Board determined Omar and her husband filed joint tax returns before they were actually married and while Omar was legally married to another man. Omar has said little about the findings except that her tax filings are fully complaint with all applicable tax law.
