The University of Minnesota football team will host two open events for fans during spring practice.
Minnesota will host an open practice for fans on Tuesday, April 7 in the indoor facility at Athletes Village. Doors will open for fans at 4:30 p.m.
The Gophers will also host a spring game this year on Saturday, April 25 at Huntington Bank Stadium. Fans will enter the stadium through Gate A and seating will be available on the north side of the stadium. Gate A will open for fans at 10:30 a.m. and the team will be at the stadium from 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m. Additional fan details will be announced in the future.
Minnesota will also host its annual diaper drive on April 25 as part of the spring game. Fans are encouraged to bring disposable diapers and wipes. These items will then be donated to the Diaper Bank of Minnesota, which provides diapers and wipes to families in need through partner agencies in the Twin Cities.
Fans are also encouraged to bring a decorated oar to the spring game. These customized oars will be added to the inside of Huntington Bank Stadium as they adorn the tunnel that connects the Gopher locker room to the field. These inspirational oars are the final images the Gophers see before taking the field and help connect the community and state with Gopher football.
Diapers and oars will be collected near Gate A in the Tribal Nations Plaza before fans enter the stadium.
