AUBURN, Ala. — University of Minnesota sophomore Isabella McCauley (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) finished round one of the NCAA Auburn Regional on Monday. The sophomore carded five-over-par (77), putting her in the fourth individual spot amongst six total individual competitors.

McCauley started the round with seven pars on the front nine. She found five more pars and a birdie on the back nine. She finished the day tied for 34th place and is two strokes behind the top individual not on an advancing team.

“Didn’t play my best today, but that’s golf,” said McCauley. “Sometimes it’s your day and sometimes it’s not. Looking forward to the rest of the tournament with my coaches and family.”

Louise Rydqvist (South Carolina) and Megan Schofill (Auburn) hold the top spot overall, shooting three-under-par (69) in the first round.

Round two of the NCAA Auburn Regional will begin on Tuesday, May 7. McCauley will tee off at 9:50 a.m. CT.
