(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher football team finished its sixth practice of the fall camp period yesterday and will have a light walk-through workout today. Minnesota will have an evening practice tomorrow night, which is three weeks from the season opener against fourth-ranked Ohio State. Defensive tackle Nyles Pinckney is a graduate transfer player from Clemson. He was a contributor on the Tigers team that won the 2018 national championship. He transferred to the Gophers in January so he could take part in spring practice. Pinckney says after getting over the shock of cold weather, he has settled in nicely with the program and feels comfortable with how he is doing this fall camp. He is a Beaufort, South Carolina native and brings leadership to the Gopher team. Pinckney played in 55 games with Clemson, starting 15 of those and registered 98 career tackles.
