(Minneapolis, MN) — Golden Gopher junior men’s hockey forward Brannon McManus of Newport Beach, California has been in Minneapolis during this “stay at home” period and he is adjusting to taking on-line classes, working out on his own, and staying sheltered with a couple of his Minnesota teammates at their apartment. McManus is coming off of his most successful season, scoring nine goals and handing out 18 assists. He says it was total disappointment to have the season end before they had a chance to finish the Big Ten Tournament. After a slow start to the season last fall, the Gophers had been playing some of the best hockey in the nation down the stretch and were fighting for a postseason berth with a 16-14-and-7 overall record. McManus played prep hockey at Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault prior to his time at the U of M. He has asked him parents to ship him roller blades from California so he can start skating outdoors here in Minnesota. There are no ice rinks available to skate with the lockdown.
