LAST TIME OUT
The Minnesota Golden Gophers began their 2024-25 indoor track and field campaign at the University Fieldhouse in Minneapolis, at the M City Classic. The team posted two program top 10 marks along with 19 victories between attached and unattached student-athletes.

Minnesota’s two program top 10 performances included Kennedy Martinson in the 60m hurdles (8.64) and Hadley Streit in the women’s weight throw (19.99m | 65-7). For Martinson, her time in the women’s pentathlon 60m hurdles puts her ninth all-time at Minnesota. Streit’s mark pushes her into the No. 10 spot in school history. Of the Maroon and Gold’s 19 victories on Friday, Anthonett Nabwe’s stood out in the women’s weight throw. The reigning Big Ten weight throw champion tossed a season-opening mark of 22.45m (73-8), which went down as a meet record at the M City Classic.

WHO’S BACK?
After Nabwe, the Maroon and Gold welcome an additional 12 scorers from the team’s Big Ten Indoor Championships roster from a season ago. Maja Maunsbach, a Swedish national, returns as a 60m hurdles bronze medalist at the conference level. Maunsbach will look to improve on her 8.14 personal best in the event that currently has her third in program history and trailing both Kimberly Golding (2017) and Emma Spagnola (2017) by just 0.01 for the school record. Other returning Big Ten scorers for Minnesota are: Diarra Sow (triple jump), Alliyah McNeil (High Jump), Erin Reidy (800m, DMR), Abigail Schaaffe (600m, 4x400m relay), Victory Godah (60m, 200m), Lexy Berger (Pole Vault), Sofia Condon (Pole Vault), Nyalaam Jok (High Jump), Zoie Dundon (800m, DMR) and Dyandra Gray (4x400m relay).
