Gopher MBB at Penn State PPD

January 18, 2022 By Minnesota News Network

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota will postpone its Jan. 19 men’s basketball game at Penn State due to internal COVID-19 protocols within the Golden Gopher program.

Minnesota played without four student-athletes in Sunday’s game against Iowa, due to injury, illness and protocols. Following additional testing Monday, Minnesota fell below the Big Ten Conference roster minimum, with fewer than seven scholarship players available.

The programs will coordinate with the Big Ten Conference office to reschedule the game.

Minnesota’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 22 against Rutgers. Tip time is set for 11 a.m.
