Gopher Men Thumped By Illinois

(Minneapolis, MN) — Illinois big man Kofi Cockburn (COE-burn) scored 29 points as the Fighting Illini beat the Gophers 76-53 at Williams Arena. Jamison Battle and Eric Curry had 10 points each to lead the Gophers in scoring in their first game since December 29th. The loss stops a three game win streak as Minnesota falls to 10-2 and 1-2 in the Big Ten. Illinois has won three straight as they improve to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Gophers are next at Indiana on Sunday for an 11 A-M tip.
