Gopher men’s gymnasts wrap up regular season with final home meet today (AUDIO)

March 22, 2021 By Minnesota News Network

(Minneapolis, MN) — The final regular season home match ever for the Golden Gopher men’s gymnastics team is scheduled for 4 P-M today at Maturi Pavilion on the U of M campus. The Golden Gophers will face Illinois in the meet. University and athletic leadership announced last year that the school would drop men’s gymnastics in a cost-cutting move. While this is it for the regular season, the Gophers will host the N-C-A-A Championship meet on April 16th-17th, which will mark the final men’s gymnastics events for the program and the facility. There is no guarantee the Gophers will qualify for the national event next month, but they are among the ten teams likely to qualify.
