(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher men’s hockey team is mostly on campus and working out, prepping for the upcoming season. Head coach Bob Motzko says his team is working with the strength and conditioning staff in the weight room and also working out on its own on the ice. He says several players are also taking summer courses to get a head start on the school year. Motzko says the summer is an exciting time for young players to get acclimated with the campus and with the college lifestyle. Motzko is confident he will have another good team when official practices start in September. Minnesota spent some of last year ranked number-one in the country and advanced to the Elite Eight in last year’s N-C-A-A Tournament. Motzko says it was good for him and his coaching staff to get back on the road to recruit. The N-C-A-A allowed coaches to get back on the road last month.
