The Golden Gopher football team had a Friday morning practice before travelling to Chicago for a Big Ten Conference regular season game against Northwestern tomorrow. Minnesota is 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the league, while the host Wildcats are 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the conference. Gopher redshirt freshman quarterback Drake Lindsey says the team needs to execute better early in the game to maximize their chances to win. The Gophers have struggled on offense to start games in recent weeks. Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 11 A-M at Wrigley Field in Chicago. This will be the third time since 2021 the Gophers have played football on a baseball field. Minnesota beat West Virginia in a 2021 bowl game at the stadium of the Arizona Diamondbacks before beating Syracuse at the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in 2022.
