Two Golden Gophers received United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors, announced Tuesday by the publication. Senior forward Khyah Harper was named to the NCAA Division I Women’s All-North Region First Team and graduate midfielder Sophia Boman was recognized to the NCAA Division I Women’s All-North Region Second Team.

The pair are the first to receive the nod since 2021 – Boman earned the second team recognition while Makenzie Langdok was named to the third team.

After a fantastic season, the all-region recognition is another accolade for Harper. The forward was named the 2024 Big Ten Forward of the Year and to the All-Big Ten First Team. She is the first since April Bockin (2018) to earn forward of the year and is the third to earn the honor in Minnesota history. This season the Lino Lakes, Minn., native has made her mark in the ‘U’s’ record book as she ranks third in single-season goals (17), first in game-winning goals (6) and fifth in points (40).

For the second time in her career, Sophia Boman has picked up nods to the all-region team. This season, Boman grabbed All-Big Ten First Team honors. The defensive midfielder earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolades this season after scoring the game-winning goal over No. 11 Iowa. Notably, the senior captain finished a brace against South Dakota State and scored the game-tying goal to lead the Gophers past No. 3 seed South Carolina to their first Sweet 16 appearance in 14 years.
