Junior Breezy Burnett racked up four RBIs to help lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-28, 4-15 B1G) past the Wisconsin Badgers (30-17, 10-9 B1G) 10-4 on Monday.

Junior Sydney Schwartz (6-14) got the win for Minnesota. The right-hander went four innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on two hits, allowing two walks and striking out three.

Burnett went 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk in addition to her four RBIs for the Gophers. Schwartz furnished a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBI.

Freshman Tinley Easton also chipped in for Minnesota, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a double.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gophers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Minnesota’s offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a grand slam off the bat of Burnett.
The Maroon and Gold then lost some of their lead, expanding on their advantage in the fourth inning after the Badgers cut it to 5-2. Minnesota picked up two runs when a single from Schwartz scored Easton and Senior Margaret Tobias, which brought the score to 7-2 in favor of the Gophers.
Wisconsin narrowed Minnesota’s lead to 7-4 before the ‘U’ stretched the advantage to 10-4 in the sixth inning. The score remained 10-4 for the rest of the game, as Minnesota coasted to the win.
