The University of Minnesota women’s basketball team (20-8, 8-8 B1G) returns home for one final time during the regular season for a matchup against Washington (16-12,7-9 B1G) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. CT.

Gopher Notables
• Wednesday is senior night and the Gophers will be honoring teammates Jordan Brooks, Alexsia Rose, Annika Stewart, and Maggie Czinano for all the contributions they’ve made to the program.
• Following Minnesota’s win over the Boilermakers, it marked the first time since 2017-18 and 2018-19 that Minnesota has recorded back-to-back 20 win seasons. Notably, it was the 10th time as a head coach that Dawn Plitzuweit has won 20 or more games in her career during a season.
• Sophie Hart (22 points) and Grace Grocholski (27 points) combined for 49 points at Purdue. It’s the second time this season two Gophers have scored 20 or more points in a game. Against Vermont (Nov. 8, 2024) Mara Braun and Amaya Battle both had 21 points apiece.
• Minnesota set a program record this season with 12 nonconference wins, surpassing the previous high of 11 set in seven different seasons, most recently in 2018-19.
• The Maroon & Gold’s game against Ohio State marked the third time this season that five players have scored in double digits, (Montana, Illinois, Ohio State).
• On 10 occasions, four have scored in double figures. (Nebraska, Prairie View A&M, UMass Lowell, Illinois, Houston, Rutgers, Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Oregon).

About the Washington Game
• Minnesota and Washington have met five times in their history dating back to 1982. Washington has won the last four out of five matchups. The Golden Gophers and Huskies last meeting was on March 18, 2006 during the NCAA Tournament First Round. Washington secured the 73-69 win.
• The Huskies are led by Elle Ladine who is shooting 46.9% and ranks seventh in the Big Ten in total points scored with 468. Against Rutgers and Nebraska, she averaged 28.0 points on 62.9 percent shooting with 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists between both wins.
• Other notable players for the Huskies include Sayvia Sellers (15.5 points per game, shooting 47.2%) and Dalayah Daniels (12.2 points per game, shooting 57%, 6.9 rebounds per game).
• As a team, Washington has the seventh best free throw percentage in the NCAA at 79.1% and is averaging 7.9 three pointers per game.
