(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher women’s basketball team opens its season with a matinee game tomorrow at home against Eastern Illinois at Williams Arena. Minnesota head coach Lindsay Whalen says she has built a versatile roster where her team can play in multiple looks, including both big and small. She says they will also be able to play fast or methodical. Two sophomores lead the way for the Gophers this year with guards Jasmine Powell and Sara Scalia returning as starters. The Gophers are looking to build on a 16-15 season last season. Tomorrow’s game tips off at 2 P-M at The Barn.
