The Minnesota wrestling team has learned its conference opponents for the upcoming 2025-26 season as the Big Ten released home and away designations Monday.
The Golden Gophers are set to host Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin. It’ll be the Buckeyes’ first trip to Minneapolis since 2022, while the Spartans were last here in 2023, and the Cornhuskers and Badgers both visited Maturi Pavilion in 2024.
Conversely, Minnesota is scheduled to travel to Illinois, Iowa, Maryland and Rutgers. The Gophers visited three of the four programs in 2024, while next season will mark the first trip to Maryland for a dual since 2018.
Minnesota returns six starters and two All-Americans from last season’s team that finished tied for fifth place at the NCAA Championships. It was the team’s best placement under head coach Brandon Eggum and was the best since a runner-up finish in 2014. Overall, it was the 19th top-five finish in program history.
The complete 2025-26 Big Ten wrestling schedule with dates will be announced in September.
