(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota football team is set for game two of the season on Saturday against Rhode Island at 11 A-M at Huntington Bank Stadium. The Golden Gophers are coming off of last Thursday’s 19-17 loss to North Carolina, while the visiting Rams rallied to beat Holy Cross 20-17 last Saturday. This is the first-ever meeting between the two schools in football. Gopher defensive tackle Nate Becker of Maple Grove played his first significant minutes in his career and registered a pair tackles in Thursday’s setback. He says outside of the outcome of the game, he had “a blast.” Becker says Rhode Island quarterback Devin Farrell will present a challenge to the Gophers.
