Gophers Top Auburn In Outback Bowl

(Tampa, FL)  —  Tyler Johnson had 12 catches for 204 yards and two touchdowns, including a 73-yard go-ahead TD in the fourth quarter, to push Minnesota to a 31-24 win over Auburn at the Outback Bowl in Tampa.  Johnson became the Golden Gophers’ all-time leader in receiving yards and touchdowns. 

Tyler Johnson and the Gophers beat Aubrn 31-24 in the Outback Bowl on New Years Day.

Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 140 yards on 20 totes in the win.  Minnesota finished 11-and-2 and won more than 10 games in a season for the first time since 1904.  Noah Igbinoghene returned a kickoff 96 yards for Auburn’s first score.  Bo Nix threw for 176 yards and a touchdown in defeat.  The Tigers end the season 9-and-4.
