Governor Mark Dayton has appointed Robert Doty as the new director of the Minnesota State Lottery. Doty takes over from Interim Director Michael Vekich, who was appointed after Ed Van Petten resigned in early 2016 when questions were raised about his travel expenditures. Incoming Lottery Director Doty was chief financial and operations officer at an organization that manages administrative functions for three charter schools. Before that, he had a similar role at the Minneapolis Public Schools. Governor Dayton says Doty’s extensive management experience will serve the people of Minnesota well.
