Governor Mark Dayton has extended a lunch invitation tomorrow at the official Residence to the family whose home in Delano was defaced by racial slurs and swastikas. Latanza Douglas, her husband and their three foster children are moving elsewhere and the governor says about the vandalism, “It’s just horrible — so un-Minnesotan, so illegal, so immoral. I denounce it in the strongest possible terms.” Dayton credits the builder who was willing to buy the home back and others who stepped forward to show solidarity with the family. Mayor Dale Graunke says he told Douglas the incident “is not Delano. This is a welcoming community.” Over 17 thousand dollars has been raised to help the family.
