Governor Dayton plans to meet with legislative leaders today about a possible special session to address bonding and tax cuts.
The governor hasn’t said this is the absolute last hope for a special session, but he has said that “if we can’t agree, we can’t agree and we come back in January.”
Dayton says if lawmakers can’t demonstrate some real progress and “see some light at the end of the tunnel” they should just admit they can’t reach an agreement.
Funding for Southwest Light Rail and metro transit remain the key sticking points between the two sides.
