Little to report on state budget talks after Governor Mark Dayton met with Republican leaders of the legislature this morning at the official Residence. The governor indicates the ball is currently in the legislature’s court. Dayton says, “I’m available, I’m here all the time, but I don’t have a role in their reconciling between themselves the differences in their bills, very significant differences on both dollars and policy. And they acknowledge that, and that’s the step they’re engaged in now, and as soon as they’ve completed their work, then we’ll start working together on those.” Republicans say the governor getting involved now avoids doing things over, and will help the legislature finish its work by the May 22nd deadline.
