As Hurricane Florence batters the Mid-Atlantic states, Governor Mark Dayton says he’s already given the go-ahead to provide help if requested, through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact of which Minnesota is a member. Dayton said Friday morning, “I don’t believe that we’ve had any specific requests for assistance thus far, but certainly Minnesotans will want to reach out and help [in] whatever way we can.”
Florence made landfall in North Carolina Friday morning with wind gusts of 90 miles an hour and heavy rainfall that’s expected to cause disastrous flooding.
