Governor Dayton has declared this “Prince Day” in Minnesota–in honor of the late music icon’s birthday.
Prince Rogers Nelson was born in Minneapolis on June 7th, 1958. He died suddenly at his Paisley Park home on April 21st of an accidental fentanyl overdose.
Governor Dayton says the day is meant to celebrate Prince’s life and contributions, not only in arts and culture, but also in his acts of service to fellow Minnesotans. Prince would have been 58 today.
