Gov Dayton: session end “disappointing to say the least”

May 23, 2016 By Scott Peterson

“Disappointing to say the least that the session ended without a transportation bill, without a bonding bill, those are serious unmet needs of Minnesota.” That’s  Governor Mark Dayton’s assessment of the just-ended legislative session where lawmakers were unable to come to an agreement on transportation funding or bonding for projects statewide. Dayton says it’s not clear yet if or when he may call a special session. Republican House Speaker Kurt Daudt says he’s open to a special session, but would rather do it within the next two days. In the meantime, the governor says he intends to act–either signing or vetoing the bills that do cross his desk within 48 hours of reviewing them.
