Time continues to run out on a possible special session to address bonding and tax cuts. Governor Dayton and legislative leaders made little progress when they met last Friday.
Governor Dayton plans to meet with all four caucus leaders on Thursday and says ” without saying this is the final meeting, if we can’t demonstrate some real progress and see some light at the end of the tunnel, my own view is that we should just admit we can’t reach an agreement.” Dayton and lawmakers have been in discussions about bonding and tax-cuts on and off since the regular session ended in May.
Funding for metro transit and Southwest Light Rail continues to be the main sticking point between the two sides.
