Governor Tim Walz confirms he’ll host an early September (9/6 departure) trade mission to Japan and South Korea, as the U-S/China trade war continues to impact Minnesota farmers and others. Walz said earlier about the trip to Tokyo and Seoul, “I’m out there basically selling the state to them because they’re really starting to find out– especially the Japanese will say this: They know the coasts real well [but] they’re finding out what we know here: really great work environment with really high work ethic, and they’re very interested.”
Walz first hinted at the trade mission just before FarmFest, saying ag producers face immense challenges from the trade war with China.
