Governor Tim Walz says it’s “a concern” that President Trump has ordered 3-M to sell FEMA as many of its N-95 respirator masks as that federal agency says it needs. The governor says, “We’re being told to go out and find these ourselves. When we find ’em, we’re getting outbid by the federal government, and now they’re shutting off a source right here in Minnesota, apparently.”
The president tweeted Thursday night it’s a “big surprise to many in government” what 3-M was doing with their masks and “will have a big price to pay.” 3-M CEO Mike Roman responded the Minnesota company is doing all it can to produce masks for health workers and told C-N-N, “The idea that 3M is not doing all it can to fight price-gouging and unauthorized reselling is absurd.”
