Gov. Walz says MN has enough protective equipment for health care workers — for now

March 30, 2020 By Bill Werner

Governor Tim Walz says as of today there’s adequate personal protective equipment for medical personnel in Minnesota — but what about when COVID cases ramp up further? Walz says, “If the peak would hit us now, no, we would not have enough. That’s why it was important for us to determine to the best of our ability where the peak would be, and then to use everything we could to push it back a little ways.”

Walz says the federal government’s response is getting better every day: “Today was the most comforting call I had, and I think it was comforting to hear the president say that he was listening to Doctor [Anthony] Fauci: He didn’t realize it that could be 2.2 million [deaths in the U-S]. He does now.”

Walz says he’s “lit the fuse over everybody I can.”
