Governor Tim Walz is sending his deepest sympathy to family and friends of the five people who died in a Minneapolis high-rise fire early this morning. Walz says, “The last report… I understand is that we have eight units and 20 individuals that were going to be displaced by this, that the Red Cross and others were on it…. Sounded like we’ll have a place for those folks to go but, once again, our deepest condolences.”
In addition to the five people killed, four were injured in that fire on the 14th floor of a 24-story public housing high-rise in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
