Supporters of an Equal Rights Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution converged on the State Capitol today after the Democrat-controlled House voted last night to put the measure on the ballot in 2020. There’s opposition in the Republican-controlled Senate, and Governor Tim Walz says about that, “If you have issues or there’s other things you want to bring up, don’t put it on the backs of inequality and don’t put it on the back of discrimination.”
Opponents warn an Equal Rights Amendment could be used as a tool for abortion, and will allow transgender males to play on girls’ and women’s sports teams.
