Governor Dayton has ordered the Department of Public Safety to revoke and take possession of a license plate that reads “FMUSLMS”. In a statement, Dayton says he’s “appalled that this license plate was issued by the State of Minnesota. It is offensive, and the person who requested it should be ashamed. That prejudice has no place in Minnesota.” Dayton also instructed the Public Safety Department to review procedures to ensure something like this never happens again. According to state officials the plates were issued in June 2015 at a deputy registrar’s office in Foley.
