Governor Mark Dayton and Democrats are taking heat after this morning’s rough start to the new open enrollment period on the MNsure health insurance exchange. The governor says robocalls were responsible for call backups. Minnesota Jobs Coalition President Kevin Magnuson responds they “had plenty of warning and this mad scramble now, right before open enrollment period starts — and now that it started — is just too little, too late.” Magnuson says the governor and lawmakers need to start from scratch and rebuild Minnesota’s health insurance system from the ground up. Dayton proposes rebates for those hit with large health insurance premium increases until lawmakers can address the larger issues.
