A group of Democratic state lawmakers has introduced a resolution urging Congress to suspend U-S security assistance to the Central American nation of Honduras. Ina Gruber, who’s from that country, says she’s witnessed crimes against citizens by their government. Gruber says, “For decades, the national police and army have killed innocent Hondurans, including children, women and defenders of human rights.”
Assistant Carver County Attorney Thomas Haines says the U-S exercises “incredible oppression” of the people of Honduras on behalf of multi-national corporations.
