A non-profit called “Fishing for Life” is looking for kids from military families whose parents can’t help them enjoy outdoor experiences. “Fishing for Life” Executive Director Tom Goodrich says his group is ready to help when either mom or dad was overseas and “they may have passed away as a result of the war, or be currently incapacitated or wounded such that they can’t really do… outdoor stuff that they’d like to with their kids.” Children from military families all across the state can sign up. “Fishing for Life” plans to provide 10 to 15 outdoor experiences each year. And Goodrich says if you’re an outdoorsman – or woman – and you want to be a mentor, you can contact them as well.
