Hagedorn wins GOP primary in 1st Congressional District

August 15, 2018 By Bill Werner

Jim Hagedorn will again carry the Republican banner for U-S House in Minnesota’s First District after defeating G-O-P challenger Carla Nelson by nearly two-to-one in Tuesday’s primary election. This is Hagedorn’s third run for Congress and he says what’s different this time is, “Tim Walz is out of the race. The incumbent congressman had a lot of advantages with name and money and things like that, and he kinda knew how to run down here in southern Minnesota.”  Hagedorn faces Democrat Dan Feehan in November.

Hagedorn says, “We want to partner with the president to make America safe by having secure borders and protecting our country with a peace-through-strength policy, to transform our government in order to make sure the economy keeps moving.”
