A bill limiting use of cell phones to hands-free while driving may get a vote on the House floor this session, but Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says the measure has lost steam in the Senate. Vijay Dixit testified in front of House lawmakers today about his 19-year-old daughter, who was killed by a distracted driver in 2007. He says to Senator Gazelka “I actually want to say in a very forceful manner…you are talking like this because it hasn’t happened to you or your loved ones.” Gazelka says his heart goes out to people who have lost loved ones and adds “I can’t imagine the pain of that–that would not be how I would make decisions, we’re trying to do the right thing to do, how do we do it, how do we make laws that actually work.” Here is MNN’s interview with Vijay Dixit:
