The percentage of Minnesotans without health insurance is lowest-ever at 4.3 percent, but officials say more work remains. MNsure C-E-O Allison O’Toole says at least 50 thousand Minnesotans would likely qualify but haven’t taken advantage of tax credits through MNsure. “We are gonna do whatever we can to find those folks. We don’t want Minnesotans to leave money on the table,” O’Toole says. And officials say the uninsured rate among Minnesotans of color remains higher than their white counterparts. And despite a drop in the number of Minnesotans without health insurance, two in 10 still report not getting needed care over the past year because of cost.
