Help is available for victims of domestic violence amid COVID-19 (AUDIO)

The high number of domestic-violence-related police calls is a concern in Minnesota as the governor’s stay-at-home order remains in effect through April 10th. Becky Smith with Violence Free Minnesota says domestic violence programs are open and “there is a safe place for you to go.” Smith encourages anyone who is being victimized to reach out to an advocate or someone trustworthy. People in need are also urged to call the Day One 24/7 crisis hotline at 866-223-1111 or text 612-399-9995. Here is more with Violence Minnesota’s Becky Smith:
