(Chanhassen, MN) — The start of high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse season was supposed to have been this past Monday with the first day of practice. Of course, the season has been put on hold to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Rachel Aiken is the girls’ lacrosse coach at Chanhassen and is the past president and current board member of the Minnesota Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association. She says this has been a tough time of year for everyone involved and her main focus right now is staying in touch with her players to keep them engaged and optimistic. She says the entire team is staying in touch by playing on-line games and special challenges. Aiken is passing along fitness and training tips, as well. She says one of her main hopes right now is that they can get the season going for the senior players, who are in their final year of competition. For now, the earliest any high school teams can get back to practicing is May 4th.
