(Eden Prairie, MN) — All three of the top finalists for college hockey’s top award have Minnesota ties.
Hobey Baker Hat Trick finalists Ben Meyers, from the University of Minnesota, and Bobby Brink, from the University of Denver, are both Minnesota natives. Meyers hails from Delano and Brink from Minnetonka. The third finalist is Dryden McKay, the senior goaltender at Minnesota State. All three will also compete for a national title this weekend in the NCAA Division-I Men’s Frozen Four.
The three finalists, according to the Hobey Baker Foundation, were selected from the initial list of Top Ten candidates by the 30-member Selection Committee and an additional round of online fan voting. Finalists are chosen for displaying outstanding skill, strength of character, sportsmanship and achievements in the classroom.
The Hobey Baker winner will be announced on April 8th.
