Kottke recommends making a budget before holiday spending and sticking with it. And he says it’s a good idea to create a diary with fitness and diet goals to help keep us on track and healthy. Finally, Kottke says “it’s really the relationships that bring us happiness and it’s the exchange of gifts, not the magnitude of gift” that can make a difference in our holiday state of mind.
