A sweltering weekend is predicted to usher out June in much of Minnesota, but forecasters say after that, temperatures should return to near normal or slightly warmer than average. Kenny Blumenfeld with the State Climatology Office says, “We don’t have any strong indications that we’re turning a corner and moving into a pattern of persistent heat waves or anything like that.” But Blumenfeld reminds Minnesotans that July is heat-wave season in the state. As for June, he says forecasters were expecting a cooler-than-normal month, but it actually turned out close to average or slightly warmer than usual.
